Dear Swancon Members,

It is with great regret that we have to announce one of our International Guests of Honour, Tamora Pierce, has had to delay her visit to Australia due to medical reasons, and therefore will not be able to attend Swancon 39: Conjuration. Best to let Tamora say it herself;

This is a mail I had hoped I would not have to write.

I have developed major back issues over the last two years (slipped discs) which have worsened sharply since December…

I am so very sorry, but I am not going to be able to visit Australia at this time. This breaks my heart… I can only apologize and hope that… I make it back to Australia.

I know you will all join with us in wishing Tammy the speediest recovery, and it is our hope that she will be able to attend a Swancon in the future.

We are still putting on a magical Swancon 39: Conjuration in a very short 2 months. Our still amazing lineup of Guests of Honour; Anne Bishop, Jim Butcher, Isobelle Carmody and Sally Beasley, will provide a wonderful experience, along with all the other members of the community who will be running panels, organising events and sharing games.
